Terms
Last updated 9 October 2026. These terms will be reviewed before launch.
By using AEO Footnotes you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not create an account.
Accounts
You sign in with a GitHub or Google account that has a verified email address. One person, one account. You are responsible for what is posted from it.
Publishing access
Members can like, comment and bookmark. Publishing is turned on only by an editor, after the member completes the steps described on Write for AEO Footnotes. Completing the steps does not guarantee approval, and editors can turn publishing off again.
Your content
You keep the rights to what you write. By posting on AEO Footnotes you give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display and distribute it on this site, in its feeds, machine-readable files and newsletter, and in posts that promote it. You confirm that you have the right to publish it, and that a cross-posted article carries its original canonical URL.
Sources
Every post needs at least one footnote. Follow the guidelines: cite where a claim can be checked, show your method and disclose paid relationships and AI assistance.
Conduct
No spam, plagiarism, undisclosed paid placements, harassment, or content that is illegal or infringes someone else's rights. Do not use automated tools to like, comment or create accounts.
Moderation
Editors may hide, unlist or remove content, remove publishing access and suspend accounts that break these terms or the guidelines. You can report a post or comment, or contact us, if you think something should be removed.
No warranty
Articles are the views of their authors, not advice. Check the footnotes before relying on a claim. The site is provided as is, and to the extent the law allows we are not liable for losses arising from its use.
Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced on the site before they take effect.
